Hypnotherapy Supervision

Hypnotherapy Supervision

Supervision provides:

An opportunity, to talk, to be heard, to identify and to learn.

Supervision is:

Supportive, educational, developmental, engaging, reflective, empowering, goal setting and enhancing ethical practice.

Supervision, coaching and mentoring achieve all of these and much, more!

What is supervision

Supervision provides an educational and development framework providing a safe and confidential space for a supervisee to review and reflect on their work while under the guidance and support of a qualified supervisor. It is designed to encourage best practice in both business, therapeutic application and the wellbeing of the supervisee. Crucially, it can identify barriers to advancement, potential pitfalls, risk analysis and red flags ensuring the supervisee remains safe and ethical in practice.

Why is supervision important

Supervision is a mandatory requirement for all hypnotherapists providing Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and is an important way of keeping up to date with the advances in clinical science, neuroscience and continuous evidence-based studies in hypnotherapy around the world. It is also a powerful tool in helping you to build your business, understand marketing and advertising etc....

Who requires supervision

All newly qualified NCH hypnotherapists are required to undertake 3 years of supervision to provide the support and guidance needed to achieving full accreditation through an accreditation process. Existing and qualified NCH hypnotherapists require supervision to remain on an approved register.

I can provide supervision for hypnotherapists belonging to other professional organisations. But please check with your professional organisation to gain their approval.

My supervision methodology

I have been a clinical NHS tutor and supervisor for many years and I hold a wealth of educational experience in this topic. Having an understanding of personalities and learning abilities is essential when guiding students or established professionals along their career paths. There are many models to choose from in supervision, some will fit supervisees and others won’t, its about finding that balance. Supervision has elements of coaching and mentoring and I myself have always adopted a style of “Person Centred Therapy” (PCT) advocated by Carl Rodgers. Learning is a two way process!

How is supervision undertaken

We undertake our supervision sessions on a face-to-face basis in our clinic or on line via zoom or teams. Ideally, the preference depends on you and your location in the world.

If you would like supervision please get in touch.

Testimonials

What our clients say...

"I have been going to see Kevin Walsh for physiotherapy treatments for a variety of injuries incurred from falling off horses while competing in both flat and hunt meetings. Originally I had consulted with Kevin for an ongoing low back condition. I had previously seen several health care professionals who had encouraged preventive measures such as "don't ride". However, Kevin retrieved me from this despairing condition and encouraged me to carry on riding. I find his treatments thorough and his depth of knowledge very helpful and I really couldn't do my job without him. I would recommend him to anyone in an instant."

Emily
Amateur Jockey, St Albans

"I was not expecting such a high standard of 'Physio' on my doorstep in the countryside. For previous dance-related and ski injuries I had consulted the best I could find in London. Kevin is right up there with the professional I had consulted in the past who had worked with members of the Royal Ballet and the England football team. He truly thinks around the problem and works out a long term approach to resolving it. You know you are not just a 30 minute session in the book: you really matter and your return to fitness is an intellectual problem and a healing that Kevin really wants to achieve."

Emma
City Lawyer, London

"I came to see Kevin Walsh following a skiing accident in which I damaged the ligaments of my left knee. His care, attention, clinical knowledge and skill put me at ease. After several months I was back on my feet and skiing in Austria with confidence. I would have no hesitation in recommending him to other athletes or members of the public."

Jacey
Businesswoman, Bedford

"I have been a patient with Kevin Walsh for over two years and have received a great deal of benefit. I have seen many different professionals over a number of years and he is by far the best. I have suffered with sciatica and lower back problems, for which his in-depth knowledge, physio and acupuncture skills in particular have worked wonders and given me substantial pain relief. He is very professional, friendly, understanding and the treatment room is very relaxing and warm. Kevin is always quick to ensure you're comfortable and I would thoroughly recommend him to anybody who needs to receive the best in treatment."

Laura
Aircraft Cabin Crew Member, Bedfordshire

"When I first went to see Kevin, my back was in spasm and I could not even bend to put my socks due to the stiffness and pain. His consultation put me at ease and he was easily able to work out the problem. He was very thorough and the session didn’t feel rushed. He has a lot of high tech equipment and his soft tissue manipulations were gentle and effective. After the treatment, Kevin talked about strategies for my aftercare. I came to see him twice and felt amazing after both sessions. In the past I have seen other therapists but now I always recommend Kevin to my family and friends."

Laura

“I have been coming to see Kevin for over 10 years for massages, acupuncture and wellness. He offers a very personal service and takes his time to get to know his clients well. The atmosphere is calming, professional and friendly. He explains things to me in a way I can understand and gives advice that is beneficial. I would highly recommend his services.”

Teaching Assistant

"Very professional, reliable and a fantastic clinic to deal with all your needs. I have been here many of times and always come away happy and feeling 100% better than when I went. Would recommend Kevin Walsh to all"

Police Officer

"I have visited Kevin a couple of times now, he is very professional and friendly. He listens to you and also gives you his honest findings. Unlike a lot of private practices it's not about the money it's about the personal touch. Would highly recommend."
